Life can feel like it comes with an invisible checklist, career milestones, relationships, and major life decisions all expected by a certain age. When your path doesn’t match the timeline you imagined (or the one others expect), comparison can become exhausting. You may find yourself anxious, second-guessing your choices, or feeling unsure about where you’re headed, even when everything looks “fine” on the outside.

At Own Your Story Counseling PLLC, I help women and young adults in Corpus Christi and throughout Texas navigate anxiety, stress, and self-doubt so they can feel steadier, clearer, and more confident in their lives.

You Deserve a Life That Feels Like Your Own

Hello! I’m Jessica

Founder and Therapist at Own Your Story Counseling PLLC

I became a therapist because I know what it’s like to feel weighed down by anxiety and uncertainty, wishing you had the tools to cope but not knowing where to start. Over time, I discovered the power of therapy not only to manage symptoms but to create lasting change.

My path has taken me through community-based care, supporting young adults, and now into private practice where I can offer more personalized, intentional support. I bring warmth, honesty, and compassion to the work I do, while also challenging my clients to see their strengths in new ways.

What You Can Expect

  • Real Growth, Not Just Coping

I don’t just help you manage symptoms. I help you understand the patterns keeping you stuck and develop tools that bring real, lasting change.

  • A Space Where You Can Be Yourself

Therapy with me is judgment-free, supportive, and collaborative. Some days we’ll laugh, and some days we’ll face hard truths—but all of it is part of your growth.

  • Inclusive and Empowering Care

I’m committed to creating a safe and affirming space for women, young adults, and LGBTQIA+ clients. Whoever you are, you’re welcome here exactly as you are.

My Experience and Expertise

I’m a Licensed Clinical Social Worker Supervisor (LCSW -S) in Texas (TX License 68247) with years of experience supporting young adults and women facing anxiety, stress, life transitions, and self-esteem challenges. As a licensed therapist, my work is grounded in evidence-based and trauma-informed approaches, including cognitive-behavioral strategies and strengths-based care. I value creating a space where you feel safe to reflect, explore patterns, and develop tools that work in your real, everyday life.

My role is not to tell you who to be or what choices to make, it’s to help you better understand yourself and feel more confident in the direction you choose.

My Values

  • Integrity

I’ll always be honest and transparent with you. If I’m not the right fit, I’ll help you find someone who is, because your progress matters most.

  • Empowerment

Therapy isn’t about “fixing” you. It’s about helping you build confidence and trust in yourself so you can live life on your terms.
